For example in this particular episode Louis Theroux spends time with the fundamentalist Christian Westborough Baptist church who believe all homosexuals and unmarried couples are going to burn in hell for all eternity. Sickness and illness is also a consequence of God for bad behaviour.
2. The second reason Louis Theroux - The most hated family in America - In Crisis, attracts its audience is via reinforcing the audiences moral standings. The text does this via Louis Theroux taking on the moral standing of the majority of the audience and throughout the documentary disproving the niche christian groups beliefs which are very different to the majority of the texts demogaphic.
